I am currently doing a PhD in Erik Sonnhammer's lab in Stockholm, Sweden. My thesis involves distributed annotation, developing formats to standardize proteome and ortholog datasets, and looking for new protein families in metagenomics data.

Previously I worked in the CompBio and Assembly groups at the Washington University Genome Sequencing Center in St. Louis, Missouri writing software to assess whole-genome shotgun assemblies and doing comparative analyses among non-human primates.

Along with Laura Kavanaugh I wrote the BioPerl Deobfuscator.

In May 2010, I became a BioPerl core developer.
